Must Try Adrenal Cocktail Recipe

Hello my gorgeous people. (Monica here) It was nice to meet everyone a few days ago.


Welcome to a short series recapping some easy, digestible steps for the busy woman. If you are easily overwhelmed and super busy, listen up! I'm also going to preface this article and all the following with: I am not a medical doctor. I have a loud mouth and passion to share what worked for me! That being said, let's dive in!


YOUR FIRST EASY STEP

Do you go grocery shopping and drink any kind of fluid? If the answer is yes, you've already one the battle!


One of the easiest ways to support your body (and especially important when your on birth control, or healing from birth control/ hormonal issues) is an Adrenal Cocktail. I was first introduced to this magic concoction by the podcast "Are You Menstral?" And it has changed my life! And I want to change yours aswell.



The following recipes are from "Are You Menstral" podcast and Hormonehealingrd on Instagram.


You need three to four things


  1. Orange juice

  2. Real Salt

  3. Cream of tartar

  4. Optional: Baking Soda/Magnesium Bicarbonate

You can buy orange juice, cream of tartar, and baking soda at any grocery store. Redmond's real salt is on Amazon or Jewel-Osco.


Here's your recipe

  1. 4 Oz of Orange Juice (I prefer 8oz)

  2. ¼ teaspoon of Redmond's real salt

  3. ¼ teaspoon of cream of tartar

  4. Optional: ⅛ teaspoon baking soda or magnesium bicarbonate


Mix it well and enjoy!

You might be saying "Ok great, I've got the grocery list and recipe, but WHY?"


Orange juice is full of digestible vitamin C and calcium. Your body needs both for optimal health and functioning. And let's be real, who isn't taking vitamin C trying to stay healthy over the last 2 years?


If you hate orange juice or it gives you heartburn, there is an alternative.


  • Coconut water!! You can substitute orange juice for coconut water and add lime or lemon for a fun summer drink! You can also dilute the orange juice and use 4oz of coconut water/2 oz of orange juice etc.


Real Salt contains crucial minerals and salt that helps your body retain and properly use fluid to stay hydrated. The minerals in the salt help your body hydrate instead of flush everything out. Who's been told they should pee clear? 🙋‍♀️ That's actually an indication you're flushing your system of minerals. You want your urine to be a muted yellow color. The real salt holds the water or liquid in your body so your blood cells, skin, and muscles can hydrate.


Cream of Tartar is pure potassium that your body can easily absorb. I'll admit that the first time I heard about adding this I was skeptical. I didn't want a fish seasoning in my drink!! You truly cannot taste it. I have found my muscles no longer twitch and recover faster after a workout.


Baking Soda/Magnesium Bicarbonate is a digestible form of magnesium that your body needs for sleep, bowl movements and muscle repair. Also, let's be honest, who doesn't need some help falling asleep? I know I do! But go easy on this one. Magnesium can cause loose stools and we have places to be and things to conquer. Being glued to the toilet is counter-productive to our busy lives.


To make it even easier!

So what if grocery shopping and prepping a adrenal cocktail is too much work? Let's say you're in a phase of life where you are absolutely spent and this 4 step recipe with ingredients that you probably have in your house (besides the real salt), is too much work right now. I've got you, here's my super duper easy version - Bumbleroot Hydration Mix


All you need is:

  1. An Amazon account

  2. Water

  3. A glass

  4. Something to mix with


One final note, my ladies on birth control, I find drinking this 2x/day to be very helpful. We're taking a pill that depletes our body's minerals, so extra minerals are helpful.


My ladies who are not on hormonal birth control, 1x/day with this cocktail should do the trick. During the summer months, you can add an additional helping if you're outside alot.
